Learning paradigm shift

The world is already in the early stages of the “Fourth Industrial Revolution”, and it is happening at a faster pace. As all industrial revolutions have shifted employment significantly, the current digital wave is surely replacing human employees with artificial intelligence and robots. Instead of competing with the rising mechanic rivals, we should focus more on the qualities that make us uniquely human: we must understand and highlight our innate, essential ability as a unique individual to be able to adapt quickly enough to this new paradigm.

The right major leads to a successful career.

Many high school students work relentlessly for the 4.0+ GPA, sports activities, volunteer hours, and public recognitions; ironically, most of them do not know what major they want to choose, and very few take time to explore career options. Consequently, the college dropout rate reached 30 percent and over 50 percent of undergrads change the major before finishing the school. Considering the fact that the average cost of tuition and fees is nearly $30,000 at public universities (for out-of-state residents) and $50,000 at private colleges, the undecided young minds often waste a fortune pondering for future. When it is very important to encourage children to have a strong sense of their personal futures, it is essential to guide students to decide majors that lead to realistic careers. Student must assess their cognitive style, innate aptitude, and the types of occupations that may suit them.
